Viva White Oak

The 280-acre site, already approved for over 12 million square feet of mixed-use development by Montgomery County, is adjacent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) headquarters and near the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center, with direct access to US-29 and Cherry Hill Road. The site will be a mixed-use development, including nearly 5,000 homes, both apartments and for-sale units, along with new retail, hotel and medical office space. The plan also reserves land for a new elementary school, active parks, bike lanes and community trails, all while protecting more than 18 acres through forest conservation.
WRS Inc’s Redevelopment of the Former ATU Headquarters

WRS Inc. Real Estate Investments is redeveloping the former Amalgamated Transit Union’s 46-acre international headquarters in Hillandale. The property will include new residences and retail as part of the White Oak Science Gateway Master Plan.

Hillandale Gateway in White Oak

Hillandale Gateway, a visionary new all-electric, mixed-use, mixed-income, intergenerational community will provide hundreds of much-needed affordable and market-rate homes, foster economic growth and be a catalyst for revitalization in eastern Montgomery County. Hillandale Gateway will utilize HOC’s innovative Housing Production Fund (HPF) to build 463 total residences in two buildings. Hillandale Gateway – being developed in partnership with The Duffie Companies and PS Ventures – is planned to be the mid-Atlantic region’s first Zero-Net Energy high-rise multifamily residential building. Construction is projected to be completed in 2027.

White Oak Town Center




White Oak Town Center is a mixed-use development in Silver Spring, Maryland, featuring retail and office space, including a grocery store and a variety of shops and restaurants. It’s located at 12345 Columbia Pike and is being developed by Bernstein Management and Finmarc Management. The center includes a walking path, a paved path around the center, and a public indoor area with transit information.
Montgomery College’s East County Education Center Opens
Montgomery College’s East County Education Center (ECEC) opened for business, and the first groups of students began their classes on Monday, April 1, 2024. The ECEC brings the College’s unique services and academic programs to East County residents, expanding access in the region and serving as an anchor institution in the community.
Located at 2221 Broadbirch Drive in Silver Spring, the 55,193-square-foot space features classrooms, training labs, and student advising space, while offering both credit and noncredit courses. The new center is the first step in MC’s expansion into East County and expects to serve more than 1,000 students in the first year.
